Today's Weather: Clouds and rain showers giving us off and on rain showers today, tonight, and Friday. Highs will be warm even with the rain. At 11:00 Am we were at 64 in Huntsville and 68 at Muscle Shoals.

Weekend Weather: Rain will hang around tonight, Friday, and Friday evening and slowly taper off overnight Friday. Saturday will start off with some clouds and then gradual clearing through the day. Sunday will be partly to mostly sunny. Temperatures on Friday 53/36    Saturday 52/30    Sunday 57/35     Monday Partly Sunny 59/45

Rain Amounts: Models are indicating around .5 inches over the area by Friday morning with more being added through the day on Friday. Most areas will see between .25 and 1 inches of rain over north Alabama.

Here is our current weather map for today showing a front stalled out to our west (moving very slowly southeast).

Here is the current Radar in motion:

Weather Models are indicating between .5 and 1 inches over the area so I think most of us will see at least .25 inches with scattered areas getting .5 to even 1 inches. Here is the model projection for 12 hours out showing around .5 or 1/2 inches of rain over northwest Alabama by Friday morning. (more rain will be added through the day on Friday giving some areas a total of around 1 inch.

The 500 MB Upper level model shows a trough pattern over us for the weekend which will allow a cooler air pattern as the main direction of our weather will be more out of the northwest. Cooler air at the surface from our cold front will also stay with us for a few days. Notice the big storm system over the southwest that will just sit there for several days.
